character building

I wanted to help immigrant families who are detained and separated at the border. Many have been separated from children, regardless of the age of the child. I used to be an attorney, so I contacted other attorneys who would have leads on how one person can help. Here I’m sharing that information so that anyone who wants to help can. It’s not expensive, and doesn’t require a donation. #immigrantfamilies #immigrant #families #EndFamilyDetention #KeepFamiliesTogether www.tstest20.techsurgeons.com

It's not too hard to find books with main characters who defy gender roles for younger children. They teach valuable lessons about equality and gender based double standards. But I couldn't find kids books that defy gender stereotypes and roles once they become school age and start looking for characters who don't conform to traditional gender stereotypes. Then I found this list which has some of the most entertaining stories out there that also just happen to show characters turning stereotypical or traditional gender roles upside down! #genderroles #stereotypes #gender www.themidlifemamas.com

Welcome! I'm Karen, and like many of you, I once found myself feeling like my kids deserved a much better mom. Comparing myself with other moms just made me feel like a failure. But I was determined to dive in and learn how to be a good mom - not perfect, mind you - but good (sometimes rockstar good if I do say so myself 😉). I've read, studied, trained as a parenting coach, and talked with therapists, educators, counselors, occupational therapists, speech therapists, anyone I could glean insight from. Here is where I share that all with you!
